Grubb & Ellis Landauer Valuation Advisory Services recently opened for business in Boston, according to Boston-based real estate services and investment firm Grubb & Ellis Co.

Grubb & Ellis Landauer serves the appraisal needs of commercial real estate owners and users, according to a statement. The office will be led by Bruce F. Wiley, who joined Grubb & Ellis Landauer in August as managing director. Wiley spent the last 16 years as a managing partner of Akerson & Wiley Inc., an appraisal and consulting firm he co-founded in 1992, according to a statement.

"With the significant changes taking place throughout the commercial real estate industry, and the impact those changes have had on property values, there is a critical need for best-in-class valuation advisory services," said Douglas Haney, president, Grubb & Ellis Landauer. "We see this as an opportunity to build a unique organization – one that can provide meaningful analyses and solutions to real estate owners and financial institutions."
