Brockton’s HarborOne Credit Union has donated $4,000 to a credit counselor and local historical society.
The credit union donated $3,000 in support of Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Southern New England to further its efforts in helping financially distressed families.
"In these economically troubling times it is essential that Consumer Credit Counseling has the funding to provide its critically needed services to those facing the loss of employment and other hazards," said James W. Blake, president and CEO of HarborOne.
A contribution of $1,000 was also given to the Brockton Historical Society to sponsor its 40th anniversary dinner on July 15 at the Shaw’s Center in Brockton.
The dinner will honor the late firefighter, "Billy" Donovan by naming the society’s Fire Museum in his memory. It will also celebrate the release of the first book about Brockton in many years, "Images of America: Brockton."
