The board of directors of HarborOne Credit Union had contributed to the Boys & Girls Club of Brockton and the Hockomock Area YMCA.
The credit union donated $10,000 to the Boys & Girls Club of Brockton to help meet its operating needs and to support the George W. Baldwin Educational Enhancement Fund, a fund designed and dedicated to create a pathway to college for the club’s young members.
A second donation of $2,000 was made to the Hockomock Area YMCA which serves the residents of North Attleboro, Franklin, Mansfield and Foxboro. This was part of a pledge of $10,000 made by Nations Heritage Federal Credit Union prior to its merger with HarborOne in 2009, and it supports the renovation and expansion of the Y’s Invensys Foxboro Branch.
"During these very difficult economic times our youth need all the support we can provide to guide them to become contributing members of our communities," said James W. Blake, president and CEO of HarborOne. "The Brockton Boys & Girls Club and the Hockomock Area YMCA are leaders in this area and we are very pleased to make these donations to help them further their important programs."
