The Plymouth branch of Brockton-based HarborOne Credit Union is extending its sponsorship of South Shore Community Action Council’s food pantry through the end of October.
The branch will accept non-perishable food items and monetary donations. The credit union will also waive the customary fee for people wishing to use the branch’s coin counting machine if they are donating their change to the food pantry. All donors will also receive a free HarborOne environmentally-friendly shopping bag. HarborOne said it also intends to match all monetary donations, up to $1,000, according to a statement.
"There is so much need for assistance, we must continue this program, and we encourage our friends and neighbors to join with us," Ed Alfieri, assistant vice president and branch officer, said in a statement.
