John L. Harrington and Barry M. Portnoy were re-elected as independent trustee and managing trustee, respectively, at Newton-based REIT Hospitality Properties Trust’s (HPT) annual meeting.
Shareholders approved a nonbinding advisory resolution approving the compensation paid to the company’s named executive offices, according to a statement. Shareholders also approved the ratification of appointment of Ernst & Young LLP as HPT’s independent registered public accounting firm.
Shareholders did not approve a non-binding proposal by the California Public Employee Pension Plan (CalPERS) requesting HPT take steps to require all HPT Trustees stand for election each year.
