Professor V.G. Narayanan has been named director of the board of directors at Leader Bancorp, the parent company of Arlington-based Leader Bank.

Narayanan is the Thomas D. Casserly Jr. Professor of Business Administration at the Harvard Business School in Boston. His research interests are mainly in managerial accounting, with an emphasis on control issues in inter-organizational settings and aligning incentives in supply chains.

"I am honored to be appointed as the newest member for the board of directors of Leader Bank, a community bank," said Narayanan. "I am looking forward to working with the management and the directors as a contributor to not only the company, but also to the communities that it serves."

Though Narayanan studies a range of topics, he brings to Leader Bank his expertise in the study of customer profitability measurements and customer relationship management within the retail banking industry, according to a bank statement.
