Haverhill Bank and Mutual Bank have raised a total of $22,180 for the American Cancer Society through the financial institutions’ Relay for Life teams.
Haverhill Bank’s Relay for Life team raised $10,000 for the American Cancer Society.
"I am thankful for the employees, customers and friends of Haverhill Bank who came together once again to support such a worthy cause," said President and CEO Thomas L. Mortimer.
The Haverhill Bank Relay for Life Team was also honored with two awards, according to a statement. Assistant Vice President Thomas O. Faulkner won "Most Outrageous" for his portrayal of Amy Winehouse in the Miss Relay contest. Alexis Courtney won "Best Bed-Head" while wearing a duck costume. Another bank employee, Alison Hall, served as Miss Relay committee chair.
The Mutual Bank team raised $12,180 for the American Cancer Society.
"There are many reasons to be part of the relay, and last year, we found a reason far too close to home," said Tom Pratt, assistant treasurer and branch manager of Mutual Bank’s Middleboro location and co-chair of the event. "In 2010 we walked in honor of one of our employees who was battling breast cancer."
