A public hearing on new Massachusetts rules regarding foreclosure notices and reverse mortgages has been postponed because of the snowstorm.
The hearing, scheduled for Thursday at the Springfield State Office Building, has been rescheduled for Feb. 2 at 3 p.m. at the same location.
The regulations are part of legislation signed by Gov. Deval Patrick in August as part of the administration’s response to foreclosure problems in Massachusetts. The law temporarily extends a 90-day cooling off period intended to give property owners and lenders time to negotiate new terms to a mortgage to help avoid a foreclosure.
