Daniel P. Heffernan of Boston has joined Citizens Bank’s Boston office as a senior mortgage loan officer.

Heffernan has 30 years of banking experience, including more than 20 years originating residential mortgage loans. He also has an extensive background in credit and commercial real estate financing.

Prior to joining Citizens, Heffernan worked at JPMorgan Chase & Co.

"Citizens Bank is committed to the mortgage business and, specifically, to growing our home financing operation in the Boston market and throughout our retail banking geography," said Ellen Steinfeld, senior vice president in the bank’s Home Lending Solutions division.

Heffernan is on the board of directors of Hill House, an independent community service center in Beacon Hill, and on the executive logistics committee of the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer’s annual event in Boston. He graduated from Fairfield University with a bachelor’s degree in finance.
