Boston-based Quaker Lane Capital has received special permit approval to redevelop 11 Dartmouth St. in Malden Center as a mixed-use property including class A office and life science space. 

Located in an Opportunity Zone, the 9-story building designed by Gensler would become Malden Center’s first LEED-certified office building. In response to public comments, Quaker Lane decreased the building 25 percent from its original proposed height, while increasing parking significantly for a total of 145 spaces. 

Quaker Lane Capital announced that it plans to seek innovation-driven tenants, including public and private sector organizations as well as entrepreneurial and research and development focused firms. 

A certified minority business enterprise, Quaker Lane focuses on adaptive re-use of existing assets for mixed-use projects in emerging urban locations.
