Pennrose’s latest Massachusetts project includes 65 apartments with private entrances in 13 townhouse-style buildings that were designed to blend into the landscape of the Berkshires hills.

The mixed-income project, Forge, includes 50 units for reserved for households earning 30 to 60 percent of area median income, and nine for housing voucher holders. The remainder are available for households earning up to 120 percent of AMI. Apartments range from one to three bedrooms and were designed with open-concept floor plans and resident-controlled heating and cooling. Community amenities include a 1,300 square-foot clubhouse, playground and fitness center.

Designed by The Architectural Team, the project includes a loop road that preserved trees and the natural landscape. Haynes Construction was the general contractor.

MountainOne Bank provided construction financing for the project, which received numerous public funding sources including the town of Lenox’s Community Preservation Act fund.
