The board of directors of Newton-based REIT Hospitality Properties Trust (HPT) has declared a 43.75 cent regular quarterly dividend on the company’s Series C cumulative redeemable preferred shares.

The distribution is payable on or about May 15 to holders of record at the close of business on April 30, the company said.

HPT owns 290 hotels and 185 travel centers located in 44 states, Puerto Rico and Canada.
