Four residential and 14 business leaders were chosen for Boston’s 2010 Green Awards this morning at a ceremony in the city’s Prudential Center.

Mayor Thomas M. Menino presented the awards to local business and neighborhood leaders who have worked to make Boston a "greener, more sustainable, and livable city," according to a statement from the mayor’s office.

The following groups were recognized at the 4th Annual Mayor’s Green Awards:

Green Residential Award recipients:
• Charlestown’s Mishawum Park Tenants Association: Don Young

• River House Condominium Association in Boston’s Beacon Hill

• Rollins Square Condominium Trust in Boston’s South End

• Flavia and Tim Reardon: 18 Beethoven St., Jamaica Plain

Green Business Award recipients:
• Boston Properties
• Allston Collision Centers
• Boloco
• Boston Neighborhood Network
• Brigham & Women’s Hospital
• CB Richard Ellis New England
• First Wind
• Jacobs Engineering Group
• Harvard Business School
• Millennium Partners
• New Generation Energy
• Southwest Boston Community Development Corp.
• Thompson Island Outward Bound Education Center
• Ula Cafe

"These local green heroes are shining examples of how even little steps in our every day lives can make a big difference in a city like Boston," said Jim Hunt, chief of environment and energy for the city of Boston. "Whether it’s the efforts of a local business owner, a new resident, or the leadership of our mayor, collectively our efforts in sustainability are the reason Boston is now recognized as one of the greenest cities in the nation."
