18 Dorrance St., CharlestownAlta Bicycle, parent company of Boston’s new bicycle sharing system, The Hubway Network, has leased 28,750 square feet in Charlestown.

The 28,750-square-foot building, located next to Sullivan Square, gives Hubway ample room to house, repair, import, and distribute their bicycles and bike stations, according to a statement.

Hubway was launched in Boston last year with 600 bicycles and 60 stations, and is currently working toward expansion throughout Boston, Cambridge, Brookline, and Somerville.

Burgess Properties Inc. brokered the lease of industrial space at 18 Dorrance St. Phillip Burgess and Steve Nohrden of Burgess Properties represented the landlord, RAD Realty Corp. Ellen Garthoff of the Stubblebine Co. procured the tenant, Alta Bicycle Share Inc.
