Hyde Park Savings Bank has appointed banking veteran William Parent as president and chief executive officer.
Parent, who replaces Kenneth Pierog, has 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. Previously, he was partner and chief investment officer at Grail Partners, a boutique merchant bank specializing in investing in and advising financial services companies. He also spent 16 years at Bank of America and its predecessor organizations in a number of executive roles.
"Bringing Bill on board is a major piece in changing the strategic focus of the bank. He is a veteran of the financial services industry, with experience running and advising banks large and small and in growing financial services companies," said David J. Houston, Jr., chairman of the bank’s board of directors. "Bill’s leadership will enable us to leverage our full potential, increasing our commitment to the communities that we serve."
"Hyde Park Savings has a strong balance sheet and capital base and is poised to grow and diversify over time, on both a product offering and geographic basis," said Parent.
Prior to his three years at Grail, Parent held a number of executive positions at Bank of America (BOA). He was managing director and co-head of BankBoston Capital, one of the bank’s principal investing groups. Parent was director of mergers & acquisitions at BankBoston Financial for seven years, as well as the regional president for Connecticut and Western Massachusetts. He spent the first six years of his career at KPMG focused on providing audit and consulting services to a broad range of financial services clients.
