Fitchburg-based IC Federal Credit Union was honored on Thursday at the NEFMA awards gala for its recent YouTube videos, launched from February 2012 through April of 2013.

The award was given in the public relations category for credit unions $500 million in assets and below.

The videos were a series of six educational topics picked by senior management of the credit union. Videos included, "Credit Unions vs. Big Banks," "Zombie Life Insurance," "The S Word," "Budgeting in B Minor," "The Tale of the Landlord & Broker" and "Credit Card Murphy-Behind the Plastic."

"The idea was presented to us by digital creative services agency, James and Matthew & Co. from the metro-west Boston area," Monica Turner, internet and social media specialist, said in a statement. "The videos are not only extremely creative, but educational, entertaining and funny as well."

IC Federal Credit Union was also recently named No. 1 in the Financial Brand’s Top 100 YouTube list for credit unions.
