The Industrial Credit Union (ICU) has awarded $1,000 scholarships to 10 students.
The recipients applied for the ICU John J. Campana Memorial College Scholarship. The scholarship is named in honor of John J. Campana, who served as ICU Treasurer for more than 50 years.
Massachusetts National Guard Adjutant General Joseph C. Carter and U.S. Sen. Scott Brown hosted the drawing for the scholarships at the senator’s office in Boston.
Applications for the upcoming year 2011 scholarship program will be released this summer.
"ICU is grateful to once again offer these scholarships. When we have an opportunity to give something back to the community we serve, we’re all better off" said ICU President Roy Campana. "We are proud to have both General Carter and Senator Brown participate in providing additional educational assistance to our Massachusetts students."
"The college scholarships being awarded by Industrial Credit Union is just one part of a 100-year tradition of community service by this credit union." said Massachusetts Credit Union League President Dan Egan.
