Beverly’s J Barrett & Co. has donated $3,000 Gloucester food pantry The Open Door.

"The Open Door makes a significant impact on the issue of hunger that is, unfortunately a reality today regardless of geographic location," said Jon Gray, president, J Barrett & Co.

"We are very grateful for such a generous donation especially at this time of year," said Julie LaFontaine, executive director of The Open Door. "Hunger is a year round issue but during the holiday season the situation is particularly difficult for low-income households struggling to pay rent or the mortgage."
