Norwell-based Jack Conway & Co. Realtors has opened its first residential sales office on the North Shore.

The company’s 42nd sales center on Humphrey Street in Swampscott will open in May under the leadership of broker and manager Timothy Knowlton.

Knowlton has worked as an agent and manager for two decades. His new Conway office will serve the towns of Swampscott, Nahant, Salem, Marblehead and Lynn.

"We were thrilled with Tim’s proposal," CEO Carol Bulman said. "We are always looking for opportunities for expansion. It’s all about being around good and experienced people. The North Shore is a different marketplace for us, but many of the communities are similar to those we serve on the South Shore."

"When I started my business back in 1956 in Hingham Square, nobody knew my name," said Chairman Jack Conway. "All it takes is hard work, honesty, and most of all, top notch customer service to get a company off the ground and running. It’s going to be an exciting trip for all of us."

Knowlton is a Hamilton native and a graduate of the Culinary Art Institute of America in New York. He worked as a head chef in the hotel and restaurant industry before entering the real estate field in 1993.
