Catie’s Closet, a nonprofit dedicated to collecting and distributing clothing and other necessities to homeless and/or severely financially challenged students, has been named the first winner of Lowell-based Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union’s "Give a Click" campaign.
The "Give a Click" campaign, located online at WeShareACommonThread.org, allows community members to read about three nonprofit organizations and then vote for the one they would most like to see the credit union support, according to a statement. The charity with the most votes receives a $1,500 donation.
"We consider social responsibility to be an integral part of our overall mission," said Mark S. Cochran, president and CEO of Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union. "The ‘Give a Click’ campaign allows us to help people in our region become more involved with their communities and with each other."
Catie’s Closet is now assisting students from three city locations – Lowell High School, Lowell Freshman Academy and the LeBlanc School.
