Lowell-based Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union will host a Toys for Tots drive to collect new, unwrapped toys that U.S. Marine Corps Reserve members will donate to families whose children would otherwise go without gifts this holiday season.
New, unwrapped toys may be dropped off at any Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union branch location from now through Dec. 14.
The U.S. Marine Corps Reserves sponsors Toys for Tots to help less fortunate children experience the joys of the holiday season. Since its inception in 1947, Toys for Tots has distributed more than 452 million toys to more than 209 million children.
"We are proud to assist the U.S. Marines in this very worthwhile endeavor," said Mark S. Cochran, president and CEO of Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union in a statement. "Knowing they helped to put a smile on the face of a child – a child who otherwise might have received no gift during the holiday season – has always inspired our members to donate generously to this campaign."
