A joint venture of Celera Properties and AEW has acquired a Methuen medical office building that was recently converted from vacant office space by Boston-based Marcus Partners.
Dana-Farber Cancer Institute anchors the 94,325-square-foot 5 Branch St. building, which sold for $29.5 million. The property has a remaining 32,550 square feet available for lease.
The $25-million renovation added new building systems, entryway and lobby and a cafe.
“DFCI got a state-of-the-art facility in a great city, we were able to breathe new life into this asset and then hand over stewardship to a top-notch landlord in the partnership of Celera and AEW,” Marcus Partners Principal Peter Cameron said in a statement.
Marcus Partners bought the property in April 2019 for $10 million and secured the Dana-Farber lease in January 2020.
Celera Properties specializes in ownership and management of health care and life science-related properties in the Northeast.
