Berklee College of MusicQuincy-based Lee Kennedy Co. will begin construction on several new projects, including area education buildings.

On one of the newly acquired projects, at a Boston Independent School, Lee Kennedy will work with Boston-based William Rawn Assoc. to provide preconstruction services for a new wellness facility and a 500-seat performing arts center on campus, according to a statement. These projects are scheduled to begin in 2012. The two companies are also working on the Berklee College of Music at 168 Massachusetts Ave. project, which is expected to start in spring 2012.

Kennedy Inst. renderingLee Kennedy will also work with Rafael Vinoly Architects on the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the U.S. Senate, according to a statement. This project is expected to begin early in 2011. The Salem State College Library & Learning Commons 122,000-square-foot, $70 million project is expected to start fall 2010.

Lee Kennedy will also team up with Boston-based DiMella Shaffer architects to design and perform upgrades and renovations on the Fitchburg State College Hammond Campus Center.
