Boston-based Liberty Mutual will be donating $500 to nonprofits chosen by the five winning teenagers of the company’s "Responsibility Project For The Win" contest.
Teens nationwide submitted an online essay describing their personal "responsibility project" for the Liberty Mutual-sponsored contest, according to a statement.
The five winners include:
• Rachel Collins, age 15, from Tyngsboro, donating to Wish Project’s Beds 4 Kids program
• Jack Michel, age 17, from Alamo, Calif., donating to FUNDaFIELD
• Rebecca Robinson, age 14, from Burlington, Wis., donating to St. John The Evangelist Church
• Danielle Roethlein, age 18, from Georgetown, Pa., donating to her science club at South Side High School
• Meganne Shady, age 17, from Fond du Lac, Wis., donating to STAAND (Students Taking Action Against Negative Decisions).
"Liberty Mutual created ‘Responsibility Project For the Win’ in order to hear from teenagers who are engaged and passionate about a project that benefits the broader community," said Paul Alexander, senior vice president, communications, Liberty Mutual Group. "We were impressed with the initiative demonstrated by all of the teenagers who participated and salute the five whose efforts we recognize today."
