capecodfiveDorothy A. Savarese, president and CEO of The Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank, has been selected as one of U.S. Banker and American Banker’s "25 Women to Watch" in banking.

This is the second consecutive year Savarese has been given this honor. She will be recognized at a dinner on Oct. 6 at The Pierre Hotel in New York where banking analyst Meredith Whitney will be the keynote speaker, according to a statement.

"It is an honor to be recognized in this way, but it is also a reflection on the wonderful team at the bank and their outstanding efforts," said Savarese. "I’m fortunate to have the opportunity to represent the Cape Cod Five in this way."

Savarese became the 18th president and CEO of The Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank in January 2005 after 12 years in management positions at the bank, according to a statement. She was the first woman to assume the bank’s chief executive role.

Savarese will be profiled in the October issue of U.S. Banker.
