Lisa Wexler, president of Newton-based Elaine Construction Co., has been appointed chair of the board of directors for commercial and institutional builders association AGC of Massachusetts for the 2011-12 association year.

Wexler, who has been involved in the AGC for a number of years, will be working with the officers and directors toward developing creative programs and innovative solutions to strengthen the association and the industry as a whole, according to a statement.

Wexler is the third generation of the Wexler family responsible for the stewardship of Elaine Construction.
