Nationwide REO Brokers, a Braintree firm specializing in real estate owned property, is launching a third-party loan review service for servicers.

The firm will have its own attorneys and paralegals review and certify delinquent loan files to determine if the necessary legal and procedural requirements have been met to proceed with foreclosure and sale. It will also provide an independent legal opinion attesting to their conclusions, along with recommendation for how to cure any problems. The firm will also provide statistical analysis to help firms identify trends or problems.

Citing Attorney General Martha Coakley’s suit against major lenders as well as the Supreme Judicial Court’s decision in the Bevilacqua v. Rodriguez case, the firm says that in the Bay State, "a forensic foreclosure review is not just proactive, but necessary to quantify and thereafter mitigate the risks associated with improper foreclosures."
