RD Management LLC has acquired the 133,000-square-foot Meadow Brook Center shopping plaza adjacent to the Target store located at 199 Plain Street in Lowell.

RD is retaining existing tenants including Marshalls, China Buffet, Rent-A-Center, Nail Depot,  Lincoln Tech and Chuck E. Cheese’s, which is expanding, the company said in a statement.

RD has also retained Atlantic Retail Properties, which recruited new tenants The Children’s Place, Eblens, Best Fitness and GNC. Also, RD expects to announce four new lease signings with national and regional retailers in the furniture, clothing, general merchandise and personal services categories.

With these additional signings, Meadow Brook Center will be more than 95 percent leased with only two remaining spaces available.

"Our investment decisions are driven by expected returns and Meadow Brook Center met our requirements," said Roger Hirschhorn of RD Management. "The trade area demographics suggested that this was a good investment opportunity for the company. Our ability to quickly add new tenants validates that belief."

City Manager Bernard F. Lynch said, "Attracting Target to the Plain Street plaza is paying dividends. We’re increasing the city’s tax base and enriching the residents’ shopping options right here in the city. It’s a win-win for all of us."

As part of RD’s redevelopment activities, the entire façade of the shopping center will be renovated.
