Staff at Brookline’s MAFCU Federal Credit Union have donated $2,500 to the Red Cross of Pioneer Valley to assist those affected by June’s tornadoes in Western Massachusetts.
The money was raised through MAFCU’s ongoing voluntary staff casual dress fundraiser. Participating employees contribute from their own funds when they choose to wear casual business attire.
Past casual dress donations include Partners In Health (through MAFCU’s Cover Haiti with Love), Mercy Corps, Greater Boston Sickle Cell Disease Association, Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program and Jeffrey Modell Foundation.
"Our staff members are always ready to join together in supporting a cause," said Viana Lucchesi, MAFCU’s vice president of human resources and administrative services. "We are pleased to donate to the Red Cross of Pioneer Valley to bring relief to Massachusetts’ tornado victims."
