Lisa Ramos of Magnolia has joined the Gloucester office of Beverly-based J. Barrett & Co. as a Realtor.

An honors graduate from Endicott College with a degree in business management, Ramos has helped bring two businesses – a spa and the family business involving generators and industrial engines – from infancy to success, the company said.

"All my business experience involved working with others to achieve a common goal and that collaborative effort is the best part of the job," Ramos said in a statement. "I find that real estate is all about building relationships – matching people with the right homes or the right buyers – which is what I’ve always enjoyed."

A fifth generation native and resident of Magnolia, Ramos is president of the Magnolia Historical Society and has an extensive knowledge of the history of the area. She is the published author of the book, "Magnolia – A Brief History."
