Rockwood Capital LLC has sold its 351-room Courtyard Boston Logan Airport hotel in East Boston to Maine investors for $43 million.
Slumber Time LLC and Auburn Plaza Inc. acquired the hotel at 225 William F. McClellan Highway, which contains a pair of 12-story and 11-story guest room towers connected by a 2-story, multi-use building. The hotel includes 2,257 square feet of function space, an indoor swimming pool, fitness room, business center, complimentary shuttle service and Brinkley’s Restaurant & Lounge.
HFF’s Denny Meikleham, KC Patel and Alan Suzuki represented the seller, affiliates of Rockwood Capital LLC. The new owners include the hotel’s longtime management team, Suzuki said.
Auburn Plaza Inc. is an entity affiliated with Maine developer George Scott, who owns the Auburn, Maine Mall and hundreds of units of former military housing near the former Brunswick Naval Air Station, the Portland Press-Herald reported. He is diversifying his holdings out of retail while acquiring more hotel properties, the newspaper reported having acquired the Portland Marriott at Sable Oaks, the Holiday Inn Express & Suites South Portland and the Residence Inn in Portsmouth.
Androscoggin Savings Bank granted mortgage financing of $37.5 million for the East Boston acquisition.
