David J. Manning has been named as the senior vice president of Vanasse Hangen Brustlin Inc. (VHB), an engineering, planning and design firm.

Manning has more than 20 years of experience and will lead the firm’s growing energy practice. In his new role, Manning will work with all VHB regions on energy-related projects, as well as pursuits throughout the nation. He will also provide insight and counsel on the regulatory environment and the latest energy policies and trends, according to a statement.

Manning most recently worked at energy and environment consultancy M.J. Bradley & Assoc. He has also served in leadership roles at National Grid and KeySpan, according to a statement.
