A Minneapolis company has acquired a parcel in Forest Park in Marlborough for the site of a 160-room hotel.
CSM Lodging, a division of CSM Corp., paid $1.95 million for the 3.7-acre property on Aug. 14. The hotel will open in early 2016 and contain a restaurant and bar, patio, business center, fitness center and pool, CSM Lodging announced this week.
Framingham-based Atlantic Management is redeveloping the former Hewlett-Packard campus near Route 495 as a mixed-use development, which will also include a 350-unit AvalonBay apartment complex and 30,000 square feet of retail space.
GE Healthcare Life Sciences announced earlier this month that it has leased 160,000 square feet of office and lab space at 200 Forest St., a 750,000-square-foot complex built in the 1980s and Quest Diagnostics moved into 204,000 square feet of space in early June.
"As major corporations continue to move into Marlborough, we recognized a need for a new, updated hotel to accommodate the area’s growing community. We are excited by the activity within the immediately adjacent office park and could not be more pleased to make this venture a reality," said Bob Micklash, president of CSM Lodging, in a statement.
CSM Lodging manages 38 hotels in the U.S.
