A luxury apartment complex in Marlborough has been sold for $44.25 million.

Arlington, Virginia-based luxury apartment developer AvalonBay Communities sold the 156-unit complex to Newton-based National Development and Charles River Realty Investors on Aug. 26, according to documents on file at the Middlesex South Registry of Deeds. The Worcester Business Journal first reported the sale.

The property, built in 2002, was assessed at $26.27 million ion 2018.
