Marshfield-based real estate firm Mass Bay Assoc. Real Estate (MBA) has bee acquired by Daniel Newcomb, principal of commercial real estate firm The Atlantic Restaurant Group Inc. (ARG) in Marshfield.

The company will continue to operate as "Mass Bay Assoc. Real Estate," according to a statement. Both ARG and MBA will operate out of the 1423 Ocean St. location which has been home to MBA for most of its 36-year history.

ARG specializes in the sale of restaurants, leasing of restaurant space and liquor licenses throughout the South Shore and the Greater Boston area.

"I’m very excited to be undertaking this project in the New Year," said Newcomb. "There is a great deal of synergy between the two companies that was of interest to us."

Newcomb added: "It was a logical way to grow our real estate business. Whereas the residential and commercial real estate markets are trying to figure themselves out, our restaurant and license practice at ARG is exploding. We will be able to rebuild and reposition the MBA brand in preparation for a rebounding residential and commercial market on the South Shore and in Marshfield in particular."

"Dan’s extensive and diversified 20-plus year history in the hospitality and real estate industry combined with superior and innovative technological skills, uniquely qualify him to lead Mass Bay and meet the challenges of an ever-changing real estate market place," said Edwin Payton, former owner of MBA.
