A July report from Experian found that the national average number of days that businesses across the country paid their bills beyond contracted terms increased by 2 percent in July compared with June. However, the same report found that Massachusetts’ businesses are performing better than most other states in this respect.
Massachusetts was one of five states in the country with the largest metropolitan areas that stayed well below the national average of days beyond terms in paying their bills, according to the report. It also found that Massachusetts was one of only three states that had an average commercial risk score that was better than the national average in July. When it comes to the amount of money delinquent on their bills, businesses in Massachusetts reported 12.3 percentage of dollars delinquent compared to the national average of 12.7 percent in July.
