The average rate on a 30-year fixed mortgage in Massachusetts was 5.31 percent last week, second-lowest in the country behind Washington, according to online mortgage tracker Zillow.

Nationwide rates on 30-year fixed mortgages increased last week to 5.36 percent, up from 5.26 percent the week prior.

Maryland and Wisconsin mortgage rates, both at 5.45 percent, were the highest in the country, Zillow said.
