Massachusetts senators are set to begin a fifth day of debate today on a bill that would bring casino gambling to the state.

It’s unclear if senators will complete work on dozens of remaining amendments and take a final vote Thursday on the House-passed measure that would authorize licensing of three resort-style casinos and one slots parlor in the state.

On Tuesday, the Senate approved several amendments to the bill including one that would require stickers on the front of slot machines that list the odds for winning on the machine along with the number for a compulsive gambling hotline.

Senators also backed an unusual amendment that could roll back restrictions on "happy hours" in bars and restaurants around the state if casinos begin operating and offer similar alcohol promotions. (AP)
