Wayne A. Cottle, president and CEO of Franklin-based Dean Bank has been elected 2009-2010 secretary of the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA).
Cottle was elected during the association’s National Convention in Phoenix. His term began on March 21.
"Wayne is a dedicated community banker who is respected by his industry’s peers," said incoming ICBA Chairman R. Michael Menzies, president and CEO of Easton Bank and Trust Co. in Easton, Md. "We are delighted he will be generously offering his time and valuable professional talents to the service of the community banking industry."
Cottle has a long history with ICBA, having served as an at-large director on the executive committee and as the elected state director for Massachusetts on the ICBA board of directors. He has also been a member of the ICBA Congressional Affairs, Policy Development, Payments and Technology, and Education Committees and served as chairman of the ICBA Mutual Bank Council.
