The Central Regional Office of the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) is relocating in Worcester after the close of business today.

Currently located at 627 Main St., the department will reopen at 8 New Bond St. on Nov. 17.

The new office features a range of environmentally friendly amenities, including energy efficient LED lights, high-efficiency HVAC units, water-saving restroom fixtures, single-stream recycling from the workstation, bicycle facilities and an electric vehicle plug-in charging station.

MassDEP is responsible for ensuring clean air and water, safe management and recycling of solid and hazardous wastes, timely cleanup of hazardous waste sites and spills and the preservation of wetlands and coastal resources.
