Karen A. MatlandKaren A. Matland, of Mashpee, has been named director of financial advisory and retirement services at Orleans’ Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank.

Matland has more than 10 years of experience in wealth management, most recently serving as a regional tax and financial planning advisor for a leading Cape Cod financial institution. Prior to that, her career included more than 13 years in the field of public accounting providing accounting and tax services to individuals and businesses, according to a statement.

"Karen will play an integral role in the bank’s effort to expand its ability to meet the planning and retirement needs of all the bank’s customers" said Dorothy A. Savarese, Cape Cod Five’s president and CEO. "In recognition of the growing need for these services, we are fortunate to have someone with her skills and experience join our staff."

Matland is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) with active memberships in the Institute of Certified Bankers and both the American Institute and the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants. She received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Bentley College, and has completed a three-year trust program at the Cannon Financial Institute.
