Matthew G. McDevitt has been promoted to the newly created position of executive vice president of real estate at BioMed Realty Trust Inc., where he will oversee the company’s acquisitions and leasing strategies.

He previously served as executive vice president of acquisitions and leasing for the San Diego-based life science property owner with a large presence around Boston.
