Kara M. McNamara has been promoted to vice president of the Woburn-based Depositors Insurance Fund by the board of directors.

The Depositors Insurance Fund (DIF) provides excess deposit insurance to 62 Massachusetts-chartered savings banks.  At DIF member banks, all deposits above FDIC insurance limits are insured in full by the Depositors Insurance Fund.

McNamara joined the Depositors Insurance Fund in 1990.  A Westford resident, she is a graduate of Simmons College and earned a master’s degree in finance from Boston College.

 In other moves, the DIF promoted Karen Q. Holland to executive assistant to the president and board liaison and Susan V. Dubiel to accounting specialist.
