Christine McVay has joined Real Estate 109 in Belmont as a sales and leasing associate.

McVay will handle commercial sales and leasing in Belmont, Watertown, Lexington and the surrounding communities. She will also handle residential sales in Belmont.

"My son, Peter and I are excited to have Chris join our office to help build our commercial business and help residents of Belmont buy and sell their homes," said Sonia V. Boyajian, president of Real Estate 109.

A Belmont resident, McVay has a background in urban planning and economic development and has a master’s degree in urban planning and public policy from Boston University.  She recently worked for the town of Lexington, focusing on economic development initiatives, including the rezoning of Lexington Center, a strategic plan for affordable housing and transportation planning.

McVay also worked for the town of Belmont as a planning consultant on the McLean Hospital Redevelopment and the Cushing Square Overlay District.  She is also actively involved in town government.
