Mechanics Cooperative Bank and RDA Insurance have purchased a new portable defibrillator for the Fall River Fire Department.

The Fall River Fire Department is trying to equip all Fall River fire engines with portable defibrillators for use during rescue and emergency situations.

The new machine is the second portable defibrillator purchased by these companies. After winning first place in the 2013 Blood Bank Challenge earlier this year, Mechanics Cooperative Bank and RDA Insurance used the $2,500 they received in prize money to buy a portable defibrillator.
