Mechanics Cooperative Bank raised $5,800 to benefit Miles for Smiles, a local youth mentoring group.
The bank was named the "highest fundraising team." President and CEO of Mechanics Cooperative Bank Joseph T. Baptista Jr. was also named the "highest fundraising individual" with more than $2,200 raised.
"We are so proud to be a part of this great event in support of the Smiles mentoring program," said Baptista. "Smiles strives to improve the quality of education by working with local schools, businesses and community partners to increase educational awareness and to affect social change. The Smiles program is a great resource in support of education here in Southeastern Massachusetts and Mechanics Cooperative Bank will continue to be involved in the future."
