Metro Credit Union in Chelsea today completed its merger with Newton Municipal Credit Union and converted the Newton credit union’s City Hall branch in Newton to Metro’s 15th location.

Cashman, president and CEO of Metro Credit Union, said in a statement. Metro Credit Union, which has more than $1.2 billion in assets and more than 170,000 members, will continue to serve Newton Municipal Credit Union members, employees and retirees at the City Hall branch located at 1000 Commonwealth Ave. in Newton. This location will be open 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
