Robert Cleary has been named the branch manager for Metro Credit Union’s location at 138 Main St. in Melrose.
Cleary joined Metro in November as a result of its merger with Secure Credit Union. Prior to the merger, he served as manager and treasurer of Secure Credit Union for 17 years. In his new role, Metro said Cleary will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the branch in Melrose and provide leadership, training, and supervision to the staff.
Cleary resides in Saugus with his wife and two children and is actively involved in the Melrose Chamber of Commerce.
Established in 1926 and based in Chelsea, Metro Credit Union boasts approximately $900 million in assets and more than 134,000 members. It operates 13 branches in Boston, Burlington, Chelsea, Framingham, Lawrence, Lynn, Melrose, Peabody, Salem and Tewksbury.
