Minuteman Mortgage of Shrewsbury has merged with the Webster Five Cents Savings Bank mortgage department.

Terrence C. Martin, owner of Minuteman Mortgage, will join Webster Five as vice president/mortgage origination officer. Donna M. Casten-Scaletta, who previously served as office manager/loan officer at Minuteman, will be joining the bank as secondary market officer. Both will work to help develop strategies to expand the bank’s core mortgage offerings, according to a statement.

Our mortgage division has always been solid and strong, but with Terry and Donna onboard, we can offer better products and hopefully enter into some new markets in the near future," said Richard T. Leahy, president and chief executive officer of Webster Five Cents Savings Bank.

"We are excited about joining the Webster Five team. In conjunction with current management, we will be reviewing the bank’s existing residential mortgage product offerings and will look to offer new mortgage options with more competitive rates to meet the needs of individuals in the community," said Martin.

Martin began his career in mortgage lending in 1985 at Farragut Mortgage as a branch manager. Casten-Scaletta began her banking career in 1985 at the former Mechanics Bank as an assistant branch manager.
