Robert W. Mitchell. Jr.Robert W. Mitchell Jr. has joined Beverly Cooperative Bank as senior vice president, chief financial officer.

Mitchell was also elected Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) officer at Beverly Cooperative Bank’s February board of directors meeting.

Mitchell most recently served as executive vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer of Eagle Bank in Everett, where he also served as BSA officer, according to a statement. Mitchell, who joined Eagle Bank in 1996, also served as senior vice president retail banking, controller and IT officer at the Everett financial institution.

Before Eagle Bank, Mitchell was controller and MIS officer at Bank of Braintree. He began his career at Eastern Bank, serving in a number of roles including accounting manager, deposit operations and loan servicing.

Mitchell is active in the Massachusetts Bankers Association as a member of its New England Debit Card Task Force and former chairman of the Retail Banking Committee. He was also recently elected a director of the Beverly Chamber of Commerce.
